GRIT Courts

Services

Hardscapes that anchor the property — not just fill space.

Retaining walls, pavers, stone patios, and walkways designed to manage grade, frame courts, and tie outdoor spaces together with clean lines and lasting materials.

Hardscapes

Structure meets landscape.

Hardscape work solves problems — holding back soil, leveling a slope, connecting a court to the house. We approach every wall, paver run, and stone terrace as engineered structure first, visual element second.

From segmental block retaining walls to mortared stone patios, we build with the right materials for the load, the climate, and the look you're after. All hardscape is coordinated with drainage and plantings so water moves where it should.

Retaining walls

We build segmental block walls with geogrid reinforcement for slopes and tall runs. Natural stone walls are dry-stacked or mortared depending on height and load. All walls are built on compacted aggregate base and include weep holes or drain tile.

Cap stones and coping are chosen to match the property's existing materials or the court's color palette.

Pavers and stone patios

Interlocking pavers, flagstone, and cut bluestone are laid on screeded sand or mortar beds. Edges are restrained with aluminum or concrete borders so pavers don't creep over time.

Joints are swept with polymeric sand or pointed with mortar. Patterns — herringbone, running bond, or ashlar — are chosen for aesthetics and structural interlock.

Walkways and steps

Walkways connect courts to houses, pools, and gates with materials that match or complement existing hardscape. Steps are built to code with proper rise and run, then finished with non-slip tread or textured stone.

Lighting conduit and low-voltage runs are trenched during walkway construction. Bollard lights, step lights, and path fixtures are coordinated with landscape plans.
